Cape York is known for great fishing and we are at the very top of the Cape at Seisia, an easy 2 hour flight from Cairns.
Your Cape York fishing charter will have your fishing the estuaries for Barramundi, inshore blue water for Northern Blue Fin Tuna, Giant Trevally and dozens of other species.
We have fantastic variety in the fish life and our location means you can fish estuaries, reefs and coastal sand flats.
Why is Seisia the best place on the Cape for your fishing charter holiday? Well, you can fish the east coast, fringing the Great Barrier Reef, the nearby Torres Strait Islands and the Gulf of Carpentaria. How's that for variety?
You can catch Giant Trevally, Mackerel of all varieties, Northern Blue Fin Tuna, Queenfish, Barramundi, Fingermark Bream, Mangrove Jack and more and more and more....
Your fishing charter from Seisia allows you to fish rivers: the Jacky Jacky a huge mangrove system, full of barramundi, salmon and crocs: the Jardine River a crystal clear river with saratoga, tarpon and barramundi: the coastal flats for queenfish, permit and trevally: the islands and inshore blue water for mackerel, tuna and sharks.
The area is a remote location that is easy to get to with all the facilities you need. You have two options for your Seisia fishing charter holiday: stay in a villa or cottage with Seisia Holiday Park , there is no roughing it here. You can sleep in a good bed with air-con, have a hot shower, a cold beer and a good feed. You can walk to the famous Seisia Jetty, supermarket and takeaway.
All you have to do is fly to Cairns and relax. We can arrange your flight from Cairns to Bamaga, meet you at the airport, arrange your accommodation and even drop into the supermarket on the way.
If you want a fishing charter holiday worth putting on Facebook, come and visit.
By the way, not only do you get great fishing, but you can visit 'The Tip' the most northerly point on the Australian mainland and Thursday Island and you can see crocodiles, turtles and heaps of birds and wildlife and plants and trees.... some of which only grow here, no where else on the planet, so that's pretty special.
Cape York offers fantastic fishing! CYA fishing guides are very experienced and use a variety of fishing techniques to maximise angling opportunities: lure casting, live baits, trolling lures and baits, strip baits, reef fishing, live baiting, burley and handlines.
That means that during the course of a days fishing you can expect to use a variety of fishing techiniques, trolling deep diving lures for mackerel and trevally, casting poppers and metal spinners for queenfish and tuna, live baiting for mackerel, bait fishing for reef fish.
In the rivers the tide cycles will dictate your techniques: expect to lure fish around snags, current lines, drains and gutters targetting the elusive barramundi and saratoga, live bait and bait fishing targetting fingermark bream, salmon, mangrove jack and barramundi, and this often produces a wealth of other species as well: pikey bream, estuary cod, catfish, several species of sharks, saw fish, rays, and other big things!
This is a fully guided tropical sport fishing holiday where every guest receives individual attention; from the mad keen angler through to the novice and our location gives anglers the opportunity to fish a different area every day.
From our Seisia base, near the tip of Cape York, we have the unique opportunity to fish three distinct areas: the north east coast of the Gulf of Carpentaria, the Torres Strait and the eastern tip of Cape York coast.
Like we said: We fish pristine rivers, wilderness coastline, and nearby coral fringed islands for a great tropical sportsfishing experience.
Cape York Adventures provide the best quality tackle to make the most of your fishing adventure. Terminal tackle is also sourced for its quality to handle the conditions of tropical sports fishing. Lures are sourced based on results.
