Island tour frequently asked questions

Our booking system will automatically send you a payment request with a link to make full payment 10 days out from your booed tour date.
We depart from the Seisia Wharf.
Unfortunately no domestic pets are allowed to cross over to the Torres Strait. Assistance dogs are allowed as long as they have their up to date vaccinations, papers and approved with Bio Security. We will need to be aware of this in advance.
Children under the age of 4 are FREE, However as we want all passengers to have the best experience we suggest taking young children over to Thursday Island on the Peddells Ferry. This ensures peace of mind for children to have a smooth experience as their vessel is much larger.
If you do tend to get motion sickness, we suggest having a travel calm 30 minutes before departure from Thursday Island. Ginger lollies are good to have on hand as they will help with any nausea.
Lunch is not included on any of our tours. The 2 Island Cultural tour does include morning tea but not lunch. Snacks are provided with all of our fishing charters, if you require something substantial please feel free to bring it along.
Yes, of course. There are some beautiful picnic benches overlooking the Torres Strait. Please keep in mind that if you do pack any fruits or vegetables, they will have to be consumed before arriving back to Seisia and over the quarantine line.
We will continue to run our tours if it is raining. Our team analyse a detailed weather report daily, monitor the wind and currents and make a decision aligning within our duty of care to all passengers. We will give a full refund to passengers if we need to cancel because of wind and weather warning or will reschedule to another suitable date.
Unfortunately there isn't anywhere to swim. As beautiful and as enticing the ocean looks, crocodiles and sharks roam the area frequently.

Fishing charter faqs
Yes, anything you catch within the legal size limits can be yours to eat, to take a photo of, or send back to the sea.
Absolutely, just let us know and we'll have ice and an esky on board.
We make that decision with great care, If we think it will be too uncomfortable, we may cancel.
But we are fortunate here to have many islands we can fish behind to escape the wind.
cancellation policy
Here at Cape York Adventures, our vessels/vehicles hold limited seating and most of our tours/vehicles sell out.
For this reason, our cancellation policy are as follows;
(a) Full Refund if you cancel up to 3 days prior to the booked tour/Hire date.
(b) 50% Refund cancellation 3 days-24 hours before booked tour/ Hire date.
(c) No refund for cancellations within 24 hrs of the departure time of booked tour/Hire.
If Cape York Adventures needs to cancel a tour due to any weather warnings or vessel updates we will try to reschedule you on an alternative date, otherwise we will give you a full refund. We will let you know of any cancelled tour as soon as possible.
